Finding Strength in Shared Experiences: An Open Discussion about FND!

Updated: Jul 17

What a whirlwind of a year it's been! While 2024 began at a slower pace, things at FND, what now? have truly taken off. We've been energised by creating informative online content, forging valuable collaborations, and laying the groundwork for our journey as a non-profit organisation. To keep you in the loop, let's recap the key events that have unfolded so far this year.

Let's recap our events thus far, to bring you up to speed:
FND, what now? - Finding Sthrength in Shared Experiences!

1. We are Thrilled to Welcome Our First 17 Members!

It was important for us to venture into uncharted territory, by advertising on 'Meetup'. We're excited to connect with a wider community!

This translates to more supportive voices, shared experiences, and opportunities for mutual growth and empowerment.

Our meetings run every Tuesday, 7pm to 8pm South African Standard Time (SAST). Make sure to join on 'Meetup'!

2. FND - What Now? Website and Our Online Presence:

Our website has gained some traction, and its aim is to provide those diagnosed with FND, their carers and/or support staff, and healthcare professionals with carefully curated, outcomes-based information and resources. We have meticulously selected and vetted a comprehensive collection of materials to ensure that our visitors have access to the most reliable, up-to-date, and practical information available on FND management and support.

3. Annual FND Awareness Day Open Discussion:

We're thrilled to announce our Annual FND Awareness Open Discussion Day!

Do you or someone you love live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)? Share your experiences, ask questions and connect with others who understand. This event is an opportunity to address FND from a scientific and evidence-based approach. It's a chance to fast-track on diagnosis and treatment options, so that people can have access to healthcare sooner. Together, we can raise awareness about FND and find strength in shared journeys. #FND #FighttheSTIGMA #Empowerment

WHEN: Tuesday, 07th May 2024, at 7pm SAST (1hr)

(Closing Date: Tuesday, 30th April 2024)

This event is open to the Global FND Community. Remember to check your time zones, so you don't miss out!

We hope you're as excited about these developments as we are! Let's keep the conversation going. Share your thoughts in the comments below, and don't forget to register for our upcoming FND Awareness Day event!
